IStonia if this request about Multy Selection is going hard, leave it do not want to bother you :). I'll try to emulate it with composite tools.

Can you pleas modify Toggle Subdevision $. So it will be off not only when Subd level is 0 but also when nothing is selected.

I still try to understand the behavior you want.

There are two levels to control multi-selection.
1. It is On.
2. There is no selection.

I removed the second control in the latest update. But it seems it went the opposite way.

Maybe once you have made the composite tool for this and show the behavior in a video I will understand.

Still not understand.

I think I can use questions to find out what you want. Let's start.

Multi-selection is on , I am in vertex mode, nothing is selected. I highlight and select a polygon and Nvil goes to polygon mode. Now, what do you expect Nvil can and can't not do.

1. It can highlight any subobject (vertex/edge/polygon) under the cursor?
2. It can select the subobject by clicking the highlighted subobject?

Only answer my 2 questions and nothing more. If it is the one you want, say Yes, otherwiae No. Something like
1. Yes.
2. No.

2. Yes

About second question I undersood it like:
It can select the polygon by clicking the highlighted polygon.

Ok, the behavior you want is exactly the same as what Nvil had before the last update. Am I right?

Do you want the multi-selection button to be unchecked at this stage?

There is an issue.

Suppose you don't want to use multi-selection when you are doing a specific work which may last an hour or so, you turn it off manually. But in the next one minute you drop a selection and this dropping brings multi-selection back to ON which is not what you want because you don't want multi-selection before you can finish that specific work.

IStonia,  I just deply analyze this behaviour and yes in some situations it is not welcome. So lets leave this request. Lets back to default Multi Selection behaviour as it was before this request. Thanks for your patience.
Do you get my idea with toggler/cicler?
