Hi all! I`m exploring Draw Mesh tool for modeling purposes. Now I can do simple things and I decided to make this complex shape full of circles but can`t get it nice, neat and accurate. I watched draw mesh kick start and some videos about it but seems like I still missing some logic with modeling like this. I would be grateful if someone record a video with creating this "vase" with Draw Mesh :)

I don't think drawmesh is the best tool for creating precision mechanical shapes due to its limitation of precisely moving, rotating, scaling & snapping of drawmesh lines. Its strength lies in retopology or modelling more organic shapes.

Conventional splines (or modelling tools) are the best option for creating the precision shape of the vase. You only need to model a quarter for this shape and use symmetry for the rest.

Can you send over the scene file?
When forming a patch from a highlighted line, It is possible there are two possible patches can be generated. If the program pick the unwanted one, tap Space to switch to the correct one While the mouse button is still pressed down keeping the tool alive.

Seems like that, thanks

I only need the spline objects in Draw Mesh. It should not be big.

722KB, there is no objects in scene, just draw mesh splines

Ok, I'll try to see if I can find a different way to reproduce the bug shown in your video.

If you set up some temporary geometry, this is one way you could model reasonably accurately with drawmesh.

Good approach!
