I find the current menu items for load and save pretty confusing. Normally when you save a scene then it saves the whole scene in the software format. But in Nvil it saves a single obj by that. I also miss a way to save just the selected object, and not the whole scene.

Save scene has overwritten my loaded obj object, and hasn`t written a scenefile for Nvil. Save scene as, save selected and export scene as seems to do the same thing somehow. I can save my selected obj file.

I have no idea what Save scene incremental means. And am also lost with Import from external file and export to external file.

May i at least suggest that save scene and save scene as writes an Nvil scene file, and nothing else?

Hi Tiles,

Save scene:
If you have a scene loaded, be it a VWS or OBJ (format), the scene will be saved to that name/format
Save scene incremental:
Will save the scene as named (same format as) with an added "_01", then "_02" etc (as you save again incrementally)
Save scene as:
Will give you a popup window, so you can change name of scene and set the output type.
Save selected:
Save the selected object only, which will give a popup for name/type

Thanks for the explanations Steve :)

It`s still a bit confusing though because it breaks with standards a bit.

... And am also lost with Import from external file and export to external file.

This is refering to objects saved in the internal library.

the save/open file issue has been discussed quite a while ago and I don't think it's a good idea to make any changes.
