I like the Smarttips. Such functions help me out in the beginning of using a new piece of software. When I started Silo I alwas had the hotkey manager open, so naturally I very much appreciate the smart tips.
But what I would like to do, is to dock the Smarttips just like every other window. I have set it to always show, because the animations were annoying me. But it's always somewhat of in the way. I'd like to see it to be more integrated with the rest of the graphical interface. Why not make it a dynamic window which is dockable? Or have an option for that like "handle as dockable window".
Just a little hint concerning the animation of the menu: when someone is presented with 2 very similar stimuli, that are masked/obscured between presentations (like close and open the menu), that someone is prone to so-called change blindness. He might miss some changes. Without the masking (e.g. always show) this doesn't happen too often.
