Transferring multiple objects to and from Nvil is a bit of a nightmare tbh.
I can't figure a way to export multiple objects from Maya and import into Nvil and have the object names match up to what the meshes were named in Maya.
Is this even possible?
I have a script in Maya which exports each selected mesh out to a separate obj file which is named the same as the mesh name.
Importing all these into Nvil it just renames each object sequentially.
any ideas?

Nvil uses polygon groups for naming imports. Are your mesh in named polygon groups?

AH, I think I just discovered the problem. I had my objects grouped under a master node. OBJ export basically collapses all separate objects to one object so on importing into NVil I was only seeing combined meshes.
Thanks again steve.
