Simplest way is to set P_Autosmooth Whole(*) to alt, or watever shortcut you use for navigating. I use alt. It can slow abit viewport navigating if you wotk with very big model.
Or you can set it to event On Exit so every time you exit your sl tool it will perform autosmooth. May be it will be better because it will activated only when you need it.

Does P_Autosmooth smooth out all vertex normals or does it act locally (Whole part suggest that it's global)? There are times where I don't want my hard edges to be removed.
I tried putting this command to On Exit event, but NVil fell into an endless loop where it began to infinitely open P_Autosmooth windows and I had to kill it.

I don't like how NVil automatically splits vertex normals. I'd like to have a complete control over them and only have them split where and when I want them to.

You put it just like it is? You have to put in composite tool.

Yup, I put it straight into event. I'll try with a composite tool.

It works. But man, this is an unusual workflow. And it adds one unnecessary undo step.
Thanks for your help, Andrei.

You can add shortcut to it and run it manualy everytime you need I use it this way. NVil have that bugs when it creates unwanted hard eges but this bugs have low priority so I do not notify about them.
