NVil is upgraded to .net 4.5 in order to add parallel features to improve performance.

.Net 4.5 is needed. SlimDx .Net 4.0 version is also needed, http://slimdx.org/download.php.

Performance for selection, viewport experience, mesh building and subdivision should be better if you have multi core system.

Hi Istonia

I have net 4.5.2 and installed slimDX 4.0 - 64 bit.

I get this error when opening one of my more complex *.vws models

It seems to work fine for my simpler *.vws models.

Does it happen every time for that file?
Can you open that file in the old versions?

Yes.

I have also tried closing Nvil and restarting it and it still can't open the file.

Other files I tried open Ok in the new version but to be honest I am relatively new to Nvil so I haven't as yet created a lot *.vws files to experiment with.

Can you open that file in the old versions?

Yes, no problems.
I have gone back to the old version for the time being.

BTW I think its great your looking into ways of improving Nvil's performance.

Hi IStonia,

Is there anything you can do to speed up "Instance Arrays"?

Please try:-
Create a box. Instance array at 20 for each axis.
The array will be created within a second, but when you press OK there is a long wait. I waited 50(Fifty) minutes, but still not done, so had to terminate Nvil in task manager.

Do you have .net 4.5 and SlimDX .net 4 version installed?
