New Update
http://www.digitalfossils.com/Download/NVil-Sep-15-14.rar
Prerequisites : A need to download/install end user runtime(for slimDX) http://slimdx.org/download.php (the .net 2 download)

Summary of changes:

  * Some bug fixings.
  * A new object selection method is added for quick object selection in other selection modes rather than object mode. Here is the steps
1. Move cursor to an unselected object.
2. Press down and hold LMB or MMB.
3. Press down and hold RMB.
4. Release LMB or MMB to select the object.
5. Release RMB.
Note: LMB and MMB selections are different. One selects the most top object, while the other does cycling selection, depending on user settings.

Thanks!

IStonia, why not to use for object selection Middle mouse button instead of combination of LMB and RMB?

MMB is bound to various selection functions by default.  Personally, I find the LMB/RMB object selection action to be pretty fluid in actual use, and is unlikely to be done accidentally.

JTenebrous, as I can see if you click once at MMB it bounds to nothing.

I guess I was thinking about how, in Poly and Edge subobject modes, MMB does a sort of paint select with click-drag.  In that case, a single MMB click acts pretty much exactly like a LMB click.  But yeah, as a single click operation... it probably would work quite well if the new object selection function could be rebound to single MMB click (or at least this could be user defined like any other keybind).

MMB is bound to "Object/mesh cycle selection" (help > contents > Modeling > Selection tools").

Object/Mesh Cycle Selection.
If there are multiple objects/mesh under cursor when doing object/mesh selection at point. LMB will select the most front object while MMB will cycle through all the objects behind the cursor.

I have modified the release note. Like LMB, MMB can also be used.

We have a lot of tutorials, active community, user submitted work.  What are your thoughts on promoting Nvil in the CG community to get more exposure.  My interest is getting more devolopment time for Nvil, but this would have to be finacially possible for you.
