Hi IStonia,

I have been using the basic streamline tool "Tweak > Move" on vertex quite a lot (with the use of guide lines, I find it can be a very quick way for me to create intersections for surfaces(apparent intersections)), but find the move to snapping points appear to be based on manipulator position. So if manipulator not on selection, it is the manipulator and not the vertex that moves to snap point.
It looks like the visual tool is the same.

Is it a bug or intentional? (I have set the basic streamline tool to auto change manipulator to selection, but wanted to check if a bug or not)

Thanks,

I would expect it to work that way, that means the manipulator being snapped to the target. If I had multiple vertices selected, I'd want to be able to set the manipulator which should be used for the snapping. What would you rather have? All selected vertices snapped to the same position? Or should they keep their spacing and snap where?

I asked for an option that controls that about a year ago. Now that reminds me of this, but I'm not quite sure if you mean the same. Here's a video from Maya:

I use the streamline tools "Snap" for that.

Yes, streamline tool "Snap" does that.

I would expect something quicker than the "Snap" tool, so if multiple vertex selected, you, for example, click and drag on a vertex, that is the snap from point, and drag it to snap point (spacing is kept)

I suppose something similar to the Basic streamline tool "Vertex snap"

But if that is the way it is supposed to be, no problem. I can continue as I am with my settings.

---------------

For the collapsing of the selected vertex to snap point, I always thought that is what "Snap selected to Highlighted" should do, but unfortunately, you can only have one vertex preselected.
