Split Loose Parts

Instead of selecting the faces then hitting Split into separate object, while the whole mesh is selected we press separate then the mesh is separated into each of the loose parts.

Do you mean in mesh mode? I think it's better to leave it as is so the split function in mesh mode only work on mesh basis.

also you can double click in face mode to make quick selections of continoues parts.
