Hi jcue,

Nvil has a lot of features and it's always a bit difficult to learn a new program.

Yes, there are a lot of tools to learn in NVIL. It is a bit overwhelming at first, but IMHO, worth the time to learn.

Hi IStonia,

steve, it won't be a problem. I will make it a streamline tool, once the tool activated and the polygon is created, WMB can be scrolled to ajust refinement.

Will that be a change/replacement to the current "Spline Extrude"? (you could add an option for capping ends?)

Hi IStonia,

Any idea how to call this tool?

I do not know, as I do not know what you are implementing.

If you are creating a specific tool to extrude/cap splines, then it could possibly be called "Spline extrude with caps", or " Spline solidify". However, if you are implementing in that specific way, it would be a specific tool with various limitations.(such as with the "Retopo" on Splines, where the tool expects only closed splines, and even if all splines are open, the resulting mesh is closed and does not extend to both endpoints of spline)

.

IStonia,

I know this isn't very imaginative but maybe "convert spline to mesh-outline".

I think it can be called 'Spline_Polygon'.

The spline extrude is mentioned several times in this thread. For some reason I cannot find it.

Yep a lot to learn, but wow it seems to get better every time I open it up.
kind of like finding money in your pocket you did not you had.

Hi johnnybevo

I'm a few days ago found interesting tools - "Tool Search". It is located in left side of screen.
Input the "spline" and you will see "Spline Extrude" and a other tools.

Thanks again Molebox.
I knew the search tool was there, but just never looked at it.
after I spend a while learning NVIL I am going to make it my personal mission to promote it.
