You should of looked at "Spline Surface"

I might need a bit of run down on how that one works, I tried to use it (very likely incorrectly) and I got a Null Reference exception error pop-up.

Here is what I did:
  • Created an outline (closed) with a Spline
  • Duplicated and moved the spline up
  • Selected both splines
  • Ran the command: Streamline Basic Tools -> Generic Tools -> Spline_Surface
  • LMB click in viewport

I have found something close just messing around with 'Spline Polygon' Streamline tool, though it creates an NGON.

Thanks for that.
I haven’t gotten into the draw mesh tools yet, for some reason I thought they were for Retopo work so I ignored them for now.

This approach does seem to produce better geometry than what I was coming up with.

Sent through email just now.

Really keen to see if there is a better way, many thanks.

I have in mind using the Background Reference Image function in orthographic view and tracing around an image with Spline (object) tool.

Then running a tool to create a flat Mesh object segmented into quads ideally.

I could then use other commands such as Shell (Mesh) to thicken the object.

Thanks for your consideration.  :)

Sounds like you have added "Object Guidlines" those you cannot select/move, they move with the object they are created on. To remove them, in object mode, with the object selected (the object with object guidlines) -> "Geometry -> Common commands n tools -> Guide lines -> Delete"

The other type of guide lines are "Guide line Objects" which when create are an actual separate object which can be selected.
