Best Fit and Best Fit All appear to work as expected when in object selection mode. Where Best Fit will take all selected items and zoom and centre them in the viewport while Best Fit All zooms and centres all objects within the scene/viewport.

I tried to use this with some face and edge selections (most likely vertex as well) and Best Fit All seems to focusing on the selected items, rather than zooming me back out to view all items within the viewport.

Having Best Fit All while in a non-object selection mode would help to reset the working view to get a better 'big picture' view of what is being worked on.

Can you demonstrate what you mean in some pictures?

Hi there,
I have sent an email just moments ago with a short video demonstrating what I am talking about in this topic.

In the video I am using the [F6] and [F7] hotkeys for Best Fit and Best Fit All.
I have left the information panel in top-left active so you can see what keys or operations I am attempting, though they do only show briefly hopefully they are visible enough.

Best regards.

Still not sure.

What I need is two pictures. On shows the result of the current operation. The other shows the result you want.

Currently Best Fit All seems to be behave exactly like Best Fit while in Face Selection (and I believe the other sub-object selection modes, edge and vertex).

I have attached 2 image attachments while in sub-object (Face Selection) mode:
- Best Fit
- Best Fit All (Desired operation 1 below)

Best Fit should zoom and centre on the selection (and as I just found out while hovering over a face while nothing is selected which is pretty neat). I believe this works currently as intended.

Best Fit All currently seems to be behaving the same as/identically to Best Fit, there does not seem to be any difference while a sub-object (face) is selected, it does appear to work correctly with no sub-object (face) selected.
How I think it should/could work is one of 3 ways:
1 - Have it work the same as in Object mode, zoom and centre on all currently active/un-hidden objects in the scene. Despite whatever faces might be selected.
2 - Have it work based on selected objects in the scene hierarchy, zoom and centre to fit all of these objects in the viewport.
3 - Have it work based on sub-object (faces, etc.) belonging to objects, zoom and centre on the objects.

In summary:
Best Fit All I believe needs attention while in any/all sub-object selection modes, Screenshot Best Fit All.png shows desired outcome.

Best regards.

Try this

https://digitalfossils.com/Download/NVil-Aug-07-24.rar

If there is subobject selection, it works in 3. Otherwise 1.

That seems to work quite nicely, thank you again! :D
