Do you mean the vertex extrusion function in Retopo tool? I couldn't reproduce it. Can you show in a video and any error messages you received?

Yes, retopo tool extrusion. No massage whatsoever, just regular freeze and crash (click on image to view gif)

It crashed on my multiple times, and I lost few hours of work before I figured out what was the cause. I presume it was requested before, but is there any chance for autosave function in the near furure?

I will think about the auto save feature. It is not a good practice not saving the scene for hours.

I just can't reproduce it. Is it the Shift+Drag action on an vertex? Does it happen every time?

Can you send me your config files?

Agree about saving, Im trying to save often, but sometimes I tend to forget when I'm in the zone, doing something. Another thing is if you're loosing 5-20 minutes of work with each crash, and it crashes on you few times a day, it can add pretty quickly.

I attached my zipped config files.

I checked this bug on two PC's, 100% repo rate on my end.

Try this

Can you make a thread in Feature Request section for auto-save?
