I thought I would re-visit Nvil as Hexagon3D & Silo3D seem to be dead end. I love Wings3D but it doesn't have some of the modeling features available in Hex or Silo3D. So I downloaded and installed VoidWorld 2.4 free version.

I'm working on a model of spaceship that is comprised of several objects I modeled in Groboto3D, Wings3D, Hexagon3D & Silo3D. I've assembled all the objects in Hexagon3D and saved the spaceship as a single object - "gunship 095.obj"

When I import the single obj in Hex, Silo3D, Wings3D or 3DCoast 4.7 in the object properties all of the objects and their names are displayed. However in VoidWorld 2.4 in the object screen only the name of the obj appears "gunship095.obj" and not any of the objects which comprise it.

Is that feature available in VoidWorld 2.4? I also downloaded a demo of Void 1.0 and it has the same issue.

You object in obj file is defined as one object. You need to check this option
Edit > Options > File Format Options > Divide into object by polygon groups.

I changed the settings as you suggested in VoidWorld 2.4...And now I get this error that the file failed to load. If I uncheck it loads fine.

Is this a bug in your software?

I just tried the same option in a demo of NVil 1.0 and it works fine. Must be a bug in VoidWorld 2.4.
