Hi IStonia,

There appears to be an issue when "Ortho view" with "Workplane space"

Example.

New config > new scene/session.
Create default box.
Move the box 100 units (for this example, in Y+)
Rotate box (for this example 30deg around Z)
Select the top polygon of the box
Workplane > Align to selection
Change view to ortho(top)
Zoom in/out and box remains in view (no clipping due to default settings)
Set view navigation space > Workplane space
Zoom in/out, the box will be clipped with only short zoom distance.
Zoom to fit.
Zoom in/out, and again, the box will be clipped with only short zoom distance.
Change back to "World space" and all OK again.

Of course, in the above example, it is simple enough to remain in "World Space". But as I am working on part of a model that is approx 200 units from world origin and not planer to world_space, I need to use workplane_space.

When you have time, could you please check?

Thanks.

[Note: I have tried various settings. "Advance view focus" on/off. Changing global (Auto) clipping plane distances. Changing to manual clipping with various distance settings etc. But all with same result.
But it does look like it is only a problem if workplane_space is not planer to world default axis and is distant from world origin.]

I follow your steps but can't tell the difference. Can you show it in a video?

I tried the step-by-step procedure and can also confirm that I am experiencing the issues described by Steve.  In my case, once in Workplane Space, I can zoom in very close to the object, but as soon as I begin to zoom out, I very quickly lose sight of the object.  I also tried zoom-to-fit, etc. and this behaviour still continues until I return to World Space.

Hi IStonia,

On more checking. This is just a problem on 64 bit setup. I cannot repeat on 32 bit.

On 64 bit. I checked with nVidia and AMD GPU
Installed SlimDX SDK and used those .dll (64bit)
Re-installed DirectX

Bit still same issue. Do not know what else I can check.

One problem that is constant (that I have mentioned before), is that in the "Preference > Clip Plane" settings, (with auto disabled in all 4 settings) only one setting does anything, and that setting is for all views (ortho and Perspective).
