Hi there!
I'm no native english speaker, but I believe that the word "bevel" is not used appropriately in any case I have seen it so far in Nvil. From my understanding of the word it is the same as chamfer, essentially canting off an edge to break sharp angles. I wanted to be sure, so I looked it up in the wiktionary. ^^
But the supposedly "bevel" in Nvil mainly does an inset of some kind. Either it's used to inset after an extrusion, or just directly to inset.
So the real bevel = chamfer, and the wrong Nvil-bevel = inset. Its appearances can be found via the tool search. In the visual tools, extrude should be upgraded to also have the inset field, and bevel should be dropped wholesale or rather be replaced by chamfer.

In the app, the words, bevel/inset/chamfer, are all used and they represent different things. I used them according to what I know from 3ds Max. Also, mirror and symmetry mean different operations in the app.
