Currently you cannot increase the size of the soft selection Falloff higher than 4%.
I'm working on a very LARGE scene and need a huge falloff. You should really be able to increase the softselection to whatever size you want. Is there a reason to cap it at all?

Hello,
I have not used the soft selection much, but found that the % falloff is based on distance of scene size. Also the "Spherical" and "Surface" type of soft selection can give different distances.
For now, try changing the soft selection type to "Surface". If that does not help(or you have already tried that), go to "View-> Floor settings(Scene scale)" and change the scale to an higher setting. That will increase the soft selection distance.

you're quite correct steve thanks. Increased the scene scale to 1 and the soft selection was more manageable.
Bit of an obscure one that.
