Viewport.

Hay IStonia, I removed previous topic about viewport problem and create this because I collect some more information about this problem.

1. Take a look at Perspective view in Four View Layout:


Now take a look at Perspective View in One View layout:


They are not the same. The same thing with all views, for example Top view in Four view do not the same like in One view.
It would be great if they will be the same.

For Four View Layout I use this command:


For One View layout I use this command like this:



2. Now we do not have default Layout and View. NVil remember Layout and view from that one that was when we close NVil. Or if you have Load viewport Layout from file it will load it form file instead.

So my request is make ability to set default Layout and View.
I think the best way will be to use Template file. I made request about it previously. So it will work this way - you set layout and View you want than save it in .vws and everytime NVil starts it will load this template and set default new scene from it.
So this .vws can contain information not only about Layout but about everything we can save with it, for example Default Mode, Default Pivot settings, Default Symmetry state, Default Ortho/Perspective etc...

For example you can add ability to select that template file from Preference Window like it made in MoI or just use Default.vws from c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\DigitalFossils\NVil\. So if there will be Default.vws NVil will use it as template for new scene.

File > Save/Load Default Settings. Save to/Load from these files: PreferenceSettings_Default.xml, PreferenceSettings_Colors_Default.xml, MainFormDockingSetting_Default.xml, MainFormBarSetting_Default.xml.

Default settings do not save Viewport Layout and View Next time I restart NVil it shows last viewport Layout and views.

I have an idea, we can make Initialize_Instructions.txt.
So if this file presents NVil will execute instruction from that file when it Create New Scene or Load Project. This way we can initialize a lot of different defaults!

Wanted to ask you about Initialize_Instructions.txt.
For example now I want to set by default Manipulator Position/Orientation, default SubD level and enable by default some SL Tool. It can be done only with Initialize_Instructions.txt. Can you do this or it is complicated task?

What is the purpose?

Purpose to restore settings on start up. Foe example I will use it to restore default pivot position/orienratoion, set default subd level or even load template scene, etc... Settings that you can not restore with save defaul settings command.

It is absolutely awaysome!!!!
I just created StartUp composite tool and it have all instructions that NVil must perform on startup!
So great tool!!
