When I press "Alt + Shift" the key mapping changes.

For simple example.

On the keyboard there is the back_slash "\". If you press that key on new start-up of Nvil, that will show top left of view_port as "\". Now press "Alt + shift" and release those keys, now press the back_slash key again, this time it shows "Oem102" and the key_binding to the function I have on that key is lost. Pressing "Alt + shift" again can bring the key back to what is was, but not always.

I have checked with a new config on win7 -64 and also checked on winXP -32 with same result.

It works fine on my side.

No problems on a text editor, or any other programme, only problem with Nvil.

If it was just on win7 -64 then I would think a conflict, but as the exact same issue is on 32 bit system, then it is a problem with Nvil.

My system is win-32.

NVil runs on top of .net frame work. Your text editor and other apps may not.

I would like to see how it behavior on other users pc. Any one please.

On my keyboard there are two backslashes. One between the LSHIFT and Z and the other one right above the RSHIFT.
The first one always returns Oem102 (and cannot be used as a shortcut), the other one returns "\".
Both keys return "\" in text input fields.
Pressing ALT+SHIFT, doesn't change anything.

I think that ALT+SHIFT is the default key for switching between input languages in Windows. Maybe check what you have set up in Text Services and Input Languages?

Yes, that was it. Thank you.

I though I had only installed "EN English (United Kingdom)", but there is also "EN English (United States)". So it was switching between the 2.

I have now deleted the windows shortcut.
