I have been looking at the retopo option/functions, not something I use, but thought I should check the functions. There is some behavior I do not understand, so will ask:-

The first I think is a bug.

Simple plane, retopo enabled, common options > Segments 4

If I use "shift+S"(partial loop), or "Shift+D"(loop) for extrude, then MWB to set segments to 2, result as expected.

If I use just "Shift" for extrude, then MWB to set segments to 2, the 2 segements are set, but the last polygon is segmented to the number of segments set in common settings (in this case 4).

A bug?

----------------

In the help file, it shows an example of extruding to edge normals. (image from help file below). On the left it shows full edge loop of a N-Polygon extruded. On the right it shows 8 of 10 edges extruded. The question is "How was the 8 of 10 edges selected for the extrusion?". I presume that "Shift+S" > Ctrl" was used, but which ever way I attempt to select those edges, it always selects and extrudes the shortest edge distance between the 2 selected.
As it was done for the help file, it must of been possible at some time (am I missing an option/ selection method)

Thanks

1. The bug is fixed.

2. Use D key instead of S key, "Shift+D".
