Selection style

Please make a selection style that behaves like the lasso but does not draw lasso, comparable to that of the lasso selection style of SILO.

Can you explain with some images. I don't know what's the difference.

Instead of selecting everything that the lasso occupies only the area where the pointer is pointed is selected.

I think the paint selection is what you want. By default, it is assigned to MMB. You can assign it to LMB, Edit > Preference > Options > Switch paint selection from MMB to LMB.

I discovered the sticky key which is x for paint select. you can adjust the radius with the mmb.
If you are done and the selection tool is still active, hit the x key again to deactivate.

or mmb drag starting on a polygon for a quick paint select.
