I dislike the way the search fields work of
* Tool Search Window
* Edit > Customise > Tools

If your mouse cursor moves ever so slightly off the search box once you click into it, you cannot type into it will stop halfway through if the mouse cursor moved slightly during the process.

Can this be improved so you can click once in the field and it doesn't matter where your mouse cursor goes, it doesn't affect what you are typing ?

I use these search boxes a lot.

Thanks Istonia

It helps a bit.

I'd still like to see one click into the field and start typing without have to be concerned where my mouse cursor is.

IStonia,
Will you consider implementing the following two changes to Tool Search window?

When user opens tool search window via a hotkey (a popup window), please put focus in the search combo box. So that we can immediately start typing, instead of having to move the mouse cursor over the combo box and click it first.

With focus still in the search combo box (blinking cursor), if mouse cursor is moved over the result list, let WMB to scroll up/down through the list (without loosing the focus on the combo box - so we can still be able to type).
If WMB is used when the mouse cursor is over the combo box - let it do what it does now - scroll through search history.

Try this

When you move the cursor into the search input field, it will get focus. That is the only thing I am able to do.
