just noticed a little weirdness wit this feature.
i noticed nvill doesn't want to paste from the clipboard, if it hasn't recently copied to it, even when the obj file is there.
kinda a pain for me since quite often im making a objects in maya first, or selecting a object in my maya scene that i want to farther edit in nvil.
kinda a pain when i need to first make a cube in nvil, copy it to clipboard, delete than go to maya to send my object over.

I can't see any problem in the code. You can try this, open a folder that contains an obj file, right click the obj file > copy. Then load vw, File > Clipboard > Paste. It works for me.
Another test you can do is, once you copy the object to clipboard from maya, use windows paste to see if you can paste it to a folder. If it doesn't work, that means the object is not copied to clipboard.
