Multiple Edge Loop Select With Shift-DoubleClick

This is a selection issue I've had with Nvil for a long time and I'm not sure why I hadn't brought it up yet because it causes me quite a bit of frustration.  Basically, I like the shortcut of selecting an edge loop (in edge mode, obviously) by simply double-clicking on an edge.  But sometimes I want to modify more than one edge loop of the same mesh simultaneously.  So I double-click the first edge loop to select it, then I hold shift and double click another edge with the intention of selecting that edge loop as well.  Only, the problem is that the first edge of the loop that I shift-doubleclicked is deselected while the rest of the loop attached to that same edge is correctly selected.  The only way I can currently get around this is to shift-tripleclick additional edge loops, and it just doesn't come naturally to me to do that because it's not a common convention in other 3d software.  Could I please request that shift-double-clicking edge loops not leave the first-clicked edge deselected?

I may have solved my own problem here.  I can change this behaviour in one of two ways:

1.  Hold control-shift while double-clicking to enable "Include Selection"
2.  Swap the bindings of my "Toggle Selection" and "Include Selection" modifiers in the Tools option.  This is probably what I'll use: Shift = "Include Selection" and Control-Shift = "Toggle Selection"... a personal preference, really, but perhaps closer to what I'd expect from the way I'm used to working with other software.  Will have to test.
