On start up, NVIL is now accessing my internal backup drives. It is even accessing the last directories used by windows media player.
I do not want NVIL scanning my system and starting up HDs that are sleeping.

-------------------------
Deleting NVILs prefetch file stopped the disk access. I will need to check further.

What is this "Deleting NVILs prefetch file stopped the disk access"? Do you mean, Edit > Preference > Special Options > "NVil Portable User Settings" folder search enabled?

"NVil Portable User settings" have never been enabled on my setup.

For "Prefetch", lookup "Windows prefetch" and "Windows Superfetch"

One of the first things NVIL does on startup is look for, read(if available) and use its prefetch file.

It is looking like a problem directly with windows prefetch. I will disable that windows service until I have time to trace the issue.

Did it happen before the "Recent Files" auto clean up at startup was implemented.

It is not related to "Recent files".
This just looks like another problem from microsoft.

If only I could completely dump windows, what a day that would be.
