In my perception Loop selection by does not behave right.
It leaves the first and last Edge or Polygon unselected - I then have to manually re-select these.

What I'd like to do:
Full Loop: Pick two adjactent faces and doubleclick on one of already selected Faces
Partial Loop: Pick two non acjactant faces within a Loop and doubleclick on one of already selected Faces

I realize that there's cool advanced options with the G-key but simple Loop-Selections is what I need mostly and Doubleclick is great for that.

it's a bug because by default shift is bound to toggle selection, if you rebind shift too include selection you wont get this problem with part of the loop being deselected on double click.

once you change the shift to to include selection both the the use cases you have will work exatly like you want.

Yeah - after I posted this I also found this related to the Toggle thing.
Indeed - this now works after changing the Mapping to "Include" which is great.
