Nvil latest version NVil-Nov-26-19 crashes on startup, no error message.
NVil-Sep-28-19 works good so it has to be something with the latest changes? Maybe AA?
-
Did you see anything before it crashed?
-
Yes, it gets into the viewport, I can see the grid for few frames, grid disappears, few seconds and it shuts down.
-
Try this and see if you can see any error message.

Sorry for late answer!
Still experiencing the crash, I am not getting the error however. I should also say that the error I got previously didn't pop up every time. So maybe there is something else that goes wrong.

Try this

You will get empty view port. Just see if it crashes or not.
-
No crash
-
Try this and see if you can see any error message and if they are the same error message and let me know all of them.

No error message but also no crash.
Edit: this is awkward, previous builds also stopped crashing, no changes on computer. I will keep testing and see if anything can start reproducing this and let you know.
-
Can you check if this option is checked?
* View > Anti-Aliasing Enabled.
-
It was enabled.
Crash is back after restarting PC.
This is the error:
https://prnt.sc/qkubqq (https://prnt.sc/qkubqq)
Edit: Now crash appears only first run, 2nd and onward don't crash. Also I noticed process is not removed from task manager after closing Nvil.
-
Turn off this option, View > Anti-Aliasing Enabled. Close Nvil then restart PC and see if it still crashes.
-
Disabled AA and it works now, no crash in latest or previous builds.
-
It seems your graphic card has a problem.
Try this
1. Turn on AA option and close Nvil.
2. Restart PC.
3. Load this new version, http://www.digitalfossils.com/Download/NVil-Jan-11-20.rar.
If things go wrong, the new version will turn off AA option automatically and not crash.
-
Sorry for late reply again,
Nvil consistantly crashes with the build provided above after going through the steps.
Regarding graphics card I have 2x Nvidia GTX 1080 (no SLI), latest drivers.
-
It is strange. Did you see any error message when it crashed and how did it crash?. Did it only crash on the first run like before? The more detailed info you provide the more help I may get.
Also try this version again. You will get empty view port. It did not crash according to your previous test.

Try with AA option on and restart PC and see if it crash or not. Do it a few times.
-
Try this version and see if it can catch the bug.

If the bug is caught, it will
1. Show the error message. Please let me know the content.
2. Turn off AA option.
3. Shut down the application.

Hi IStonia, no error message, it crashes everytime I start it.
I messed around with Nvidia Control Panel settings for Nvil a bit, setting everything back to default stops the crash! I will let you know if it reappears.
