Title: MatCap error when selecting object.
Post by: arvin00 on September 18, 2018, 06:08:17 pm
Hi

I think I encountered a problem in windows 10, I did not have this problem before, when I select the object with an assigned matcap the matcap disappears and will show the default material, when I deselect it the matcap returns.

I updated NVil and my videocard so I do not think that the problem is in any of those.

Thanks,
Arvin.

Hi Arvin00. Please double-check that retopo mode is turned off.

ohh, thanks! that works. But will it no be possible to make it work with it turned on? not really something that's a must but sometimes I retopo hard surface and matcaps really helps.

Thanks again!

I think this is by design because MatCap materials do not have an alpha attribute and some people, me included, like to have a material applied on retopo surface to be somewhat transparent in order to see retopo reference surface behind it.

Note that you can have MatCap visible on retopo reference object during the retopologization process.
