Title: Image Planes
Post by: kevjon on August 11, 2018, 08:41:56 pm
I've created a plane with the image option and assigned the reference image material to it. That all works good in shaded view.

Is there a way to see the reference image in wireframe mode ?

When I go to the plane in scene explorer and set rendering options to solid it does not stay in this state when I toggle to wireframe mode.

Hi Kevyon,

The "Wireframe" mode is global. You would need to use wiremesh or transparent (on the object(s) that are not the image plane).

I have brought this type of subject up before. But IStonia has followed a route of making changes to viewport that are good for screen_grabs, rather than being good for workflow/performance.

Steve

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll use that workflow for when I need to model in wireframe and still see my reference images on image planes.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Like most complex software there are often small hidden settings that are easy to miss or not certain what they do.
