Title: Exporter for GLBasic , it´s possible?¿

Hi sorry for this first post, and for reclaim an extra for VoidWorld...

Well I like if it´s possible to some developer or the VoidWorld, if can possible make an expoter for .DDD files... I´m indie Developer and use this Lenguaje an Basic... very easy , but very powerfull, for develop applications and Games for the most Mobile and O.S at today, like iPhone iPad, Android, Palm Pre, Wiz, and some minoritaires consoles, and off course... of the S.O most populars in the market Linux, Mac and Win...

The community in the part of the 3D have a great void Space... the most people don´t have any idea to Use 3dsMax... they are in most cases C++ Programmers, and the only one tool offers a good exporter, it´s a simple but cool 3D tool, this it´s A3CD, well I think not i´s enough for make a complex or good textures unwrapperd models... Well it´s possible use Blender... but it´s the same for a person don´t touch never 3D suites, I think it´s a little complex... for me whit a 15 years ago using max, sometimes it´s a hard work learn a Complete suite from 0...

Well for this my question... can be possible make an exporter for VoidWorld... I don´t have any idea if can be too much complex... but the plugin for 3ds Max was made for an only user whit maxscript....

If anyone can comment me somthing about this, or want I traslate this question to GLBasic Developer for if you need some info... please only comment. I´m glad to help to growing Void World, and well GlBasic too...

PS: I feel fine whit max, but it´s very tedious and the works whit poly whitout using short-keys sometimes it´s very slowly... and well they make the 12 version, and continues Crashing... :|

I googled .DDD file and wasn't able to find any information about it. Can you help me out about this? And do you have any idea how many people use this format?

Well The GLbasic comment me this:
Hi,

you can export to .dda (ascii) and you can make a GLBasic program that cal load .dda and save .ddd (x_loadobj, x_saveobj).

About x_loadobj and x_save obj, those are 2 commands of Glbasic for load and save 3D Data...

Sorry for not help whit more info, but I´m not proffesional programmer and I don´t know how the GlBasic make the thing whit  C++

About the number of users... the forum have a great bunch of people... the most from Deustchland... but not all make 3D things... this it´s the fact beacuse I think VoidWorld can be very good for GLbasic Comunity... learn 3DS MAX o Blender for a programmer can be a hard task, and well a lot of time... in some cases the games not are very complex... normally are casual games... Another awesome point it´s Void World can be Used whit Coat 3D for me it´s much better than Zbrush... BodyPaint it´s another filosofy too good too but you need 3ds MAX of another expensive Auto$desk application...

I couldn't find the full description for .DDD file format. Seems it is not an open format. As what I can see, GLBasic has the ability to convert .md2 and .3ds into .DDW or .DDD format. In VW you can export to .3ds if the object is saved to internal library. Since most of the GLBasic users are programmers, they shouldn't have the problem to convert .3ds to .DDD.

Misc Tools > Save To Object Library.

Misc Tools > Open Object Library. Right click the object node > Export To > .3ds.

Hi IStonia, yes I know this :), I use GLBasic, from a 3 years ago... almost form the principle of comervial devicex mobiles developement...

But the conevet tool, don´t like too much people, it´s very tedious convert and text the model...

Don´t care I stay working in a atuomatic conveerter... but I think the .DDA or .DDD genertae from a .3DS or .OBJ, it´s very more greater than another created directly .DDA. I´m not sure about this :|
