HI IStonia,
I mentioned on one of the update threads about when moving the cursor over the user toolbar buttons there is a spike in the CPU (full core use). That problem now appears more frequently.
I have noticed that if you move the mouse cursor between buttons slowly, when you get to the edge of a button, the button flashes between colors and the CPU spike remains until you move it away. That itself was not a problem a couple of builds ago, so some change as made the problem worse.
I really do not see why a button, when hovered over by the mouse should be causing such excessive CPU use.
Could you please look at this when you have time?
Thanks,

This as got me checking.
I am finding that when NVIL is simply started, then left idle, it is constantly using 14% GPU load and 15% memory controller load on my GTX460 (graphics card). Moving the cursor over the buttons also causing an 100% spike in GPU.
Something not right with that.

Should be better now.

When I have the app idling, my cpu usage is 0 to 3 most of the time. The GPU should be free because no rendering will happen while idling. How did you check your GPU usage?

Hi IStonia,
You can use GPU-Z to check GPU usage for NVIDIA and ATI cards:- http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

Yes, the problem with the high CPU on the buttons now appears to be fixed. Many thanks.
I just re-check the GPU. After opening NVIL, the GPU settles at 3%, I leave NVIL idle, and the GPU load increases to 12-14% and remains there.

I use Radeon.

I use Radeon.
That is ATI, so GPU-Z will work OK.

Hi IStonia,
I made another check for GPU usage. Although I am still seeing some reported load while idle, the Core/ Memory/ Shader clocks are now all bottoming out while NVIL idle.
So I currently no longer see this as a problem.
Thank you very much.
