Title: Disable the toggle between sub-object selection modes (Vertex, Edge, Face)

Is it possible to disable toggling between selection modes?
I find myself just wanting to go into edge mode for example (and it may already be active) I don't want to toggle back to my previous sub-object mode.

Edit > Preference > Options 2 > Modeling > Allow subobject type hotkey toggle between previous type.
