Title: Irregular chamfering
Post by: haystax on June 01, 2016, 11:39:14 pm
I keep running into issues where some models I work on get into a state where chamfering edges no longer behaves in a predicable manner. See attached scene.

Any help resolving this would be great appreciated!

Which build of Nvil are you using?

If the latest build, (May_29), make sure "edit -> options  -> "Edge Chamfer Option1 Enabled" " is not checked(enabled).

Tried this on my laptop and it's definitely less broken without that option checked, but the resulting chamfer still isn't evenly spaced from it's neighboring edges. Does no one else have this issue with the model I shared?

It is a bug in the chamfer option1 algorithm. Try this

...........but the resulting chamfer still isn't evenly spaced from it's neighboring edges.

Make sure "Edit -> options -> "Equal Chamfer Amount" " is not checked.

Great thanks guys! Using the new build and having both of those options disabled seem to have fixed it!
