Title: Is there a way to uncombined two objects?
Post by: 3dwizzard on July 14, 2012, 11:39:33 pm
Is there a way to uncombined two objects? I'm not really sure how, but the figure, and the skirt that I was working on.
Got combined.

Could it be, by saving the file. It automatically combined the two objects?
I'm not sure, I'm new to this program. But I'm thinking this could be possible.

Not sure your object is combined to one object with different meshes or just one mesh.
You can use Geometry > Commond Commands n Tools > Split. It works in all modes.
It is likely that it is one mesh. If so, in polygon mode, select all the polygons of the skirt, then Geometry > Common commands n Tools > Split and choose the right option in the popup dialog.

If you have lots skirts to create, you may find a feature especially useful.

1. Create a few closed splines.
2. Deselect all objects.
3. Goto edge mode.
4. Open the 'Retopo' tool. Geometry > Create > Retopo.
5. Click to select those splines one by one.
6. Press down Ctrl key. A mesh will be generated.
7. Scroll WMB to adjust the segments.
8. Release Ctrl key to finish.

Thank you, that did it.
It was combined, at least that's what it said in the scene explore. In the object group tab.
Not sure how I did it.
I'll have to try that Retopo. Getting a little bit too late right now.
Something for tomorrow night.
Again thank you for your help.  :)
