IStonia,
I continue to polish my Configuration,
Can you pleas add option - Show organic objects with Sharp edges?
Thank you.
-
Can I know why you want this?
-
We have two objects Hard and Organic,
Hard objects must always be Smooth but Organic can be smooth or Sharp. I prefer to work with Organic objects when they are sharp, but now you have always after you created object set it to sharp by hands. So it would be great to have option to set them to be sharp by default.
So we will have by default Hard objects - Smooth and Organic - Sharp or Smooth depends on setting.

I found I have difficulty on understanding your words. Can you give me an example?

Yep,
Check this pick:
and after subd (With sharp edges off on SubD Mesh):
I'm talking about option that will make objects with organic flag to have sharp edges by default.
Let me know if you do not understand something.
-
I am still confused.
Do you mean showing smooth edges as sharp edges? There are options, View > Object Shading > Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options > ...
-
Can you pleas add option - Show organic objects with Sharp edges?
View >> Object shading >> Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options >>>> "Sharp Edges On on New Object"
-
Steve,
Yes, but if you create objects with Hard Flag they must be smoothed :) So it does not working, becouse we have 2 types of objects where Hard flag objects must be smoothed always and Organic flag objects has to be Smoothed or Sharp. That is why I asking for this option.
-
Yes, but if you create objects with Hard Flag they must be smoothed
Organic objects do not have hard edges.
-
Organic objects do not have hard edges.
Yes, what I said wrong?
-
This is how looks Hard flag object with sharp edges (We will have this if we turn on "Sharp Edges On on New Object"):
but have to look like this (so "Sharp Edges On on New Object" must be off):
And this is how looks Organic flag object with Sharp edges when not subdivided:
And this is how looks Organic flag object with Smooth edges when not subdivided
(https://api.monosnap.com/rpc/file/download?id=LlzC1uIKWai0hSmOFUXGHYLpXn2i4d)
All I want is option to change defoault setting for last 2 images(Organic flags) between Sharp and Smooth edges.
So if you check this settings you will have always organic objects with sharp edge or uncheck to have them with smooth edges.

I guess the option you want is something like this
View >> Object shading >> Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options >> Sharp Edges On New Organic Object
Right?
-
Yes!
And if use this logic we have second option:
View >> Object shading >> Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options >>Sharp Edges On Organic Objects
It is for objects that already created and if for example we wanted to switch from Hard Flag object to organic this organic object will have Sharp edges.
So we have to have these:
View >> Object shading >> Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options >>Sharp Edges On New Organic Object
View >> Object shading >> Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options >>Sharp Edges On Organic Objects
May be it sounds a bit complicated but in well customized config you will never think about this you will just have comfortable work without changing any settings. New users for example will never no about all this stuff.

Try this
http://www.digitalfossils.com/Download/NVil-Aug-28-15.rar
* View > Object Shading > Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options > Toggle Normal/Sharp Edges (Organic).
* View > Object Shading > Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options > Sharp Edges On On New Organic Object.
-
Many thanks!
-
IStonia, now we can control if organic objects are sharp or smooth after we switching from hard to organic object types. But we can not control if objects are sharp or smooth after we going from Organic to hard objects.
Can you make:
* View > Object Shading > Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options > Toggle Normal/Sharp Edges (Hard Edge Objects).
* View > Object Shading > Normal/Sharp/Smooth Edge Options > Toggle Normal/Sharp Edges All (Hard Edge Objects).
