Currently when selecting all Vertices, Edges or polygons of an object and hitting delete the empty object remains in the object list. It should automatically get cleared.
-
In this situation I use composite tool - Select empty objects, Delete.

I know in modo it also leaves an empty layer if you delete all subobjects. You then have to delete the empty layer or add geometry to it. Empty layers in modo grey out so you can tell its empty.
I suppose the feature is there so you don't have to go through the process of creating a new object and naming it if you want to just add different type of geometry to an already existing object.

I think Modo's Layers and what Nvil calls objects are fundamentally different things.
Layers are simply containers or folders, which may hold all sorts of geometry and can be empty as well. Layers are not geometry themselfes.
Objects in Nvil are always actual geometry, which again is comprised of subobjects.
If all subobjects are deleted the object indeed doesn't exist any more, therefore it's entry in the object list should get removed automatically.

No they are the same.

Kevjon, as I understood you can not create object inside object using for example Box or Sphere, it will create new object everytime.

I get it now, in that way Modo and Nvil are different.
Ignore my previous post.
