Title: (Fixed) Slide -> Scale modify curve

I was asked to post an example of "Slide-> Scale modify curve" of how I created the example here  (http://voidworld.cmcproductions.co.uk/index.php/topic,270.msg1010.html#msg1010) with the spiral/scale modify.
In the latest version that does not appear possible, with a result showing as:-

If I go back to build "Voidworld jul-10-12" (which I have to do quite often these days), I find that it works correctly:-

I have attached the vws example file.
