I thought at first this may be a case of asking for optimization, as inset on a large number of individual polygons can be quite slow. But I am seeing another issue.

A quick example. Create a tessellated box, tessellation at 20x20x20, then use the steamline tool "polygon inset" ( S + RMB), that works OK after a couple of seconds.
Now if I create a tessellated box, tessellation at 25x25x25, then use the same streamline tool, instead of the function working after a delay, NVIL screen turns white and the tool exits with no inset made.

Another point. If I create a tessellated box at 50x50x50 and use the visual tool inset-> preview(individual polygon), it does inset all the individual polygons, but takes 2 minutes, which is, IMHO, quite a long time on this setup [i5 3rd gen].
(In wings3d, I can inset the same number of faces in 1 second)

When you have time, could you please check?
