Hi IStonia,

Having my first night back on to modeling for a while, I find that when you made changes for the problems with "Polygon Normal Move", it appears you have broken "Shell" and "Extrude"

Example: Create a segmented plane, then either "shell" or "Polygon > extrude in vertex normals"

I also checked with new config.

Could you please check when you have time.

Thanks

Try this...

Thanks - I only tried the fixed extrude function but it worked for me.

Steve - thanks for reporting this.  I usually use the extrude streamline tool and I was running into this bug loads yesterday, but tapping the capslock key switched to the correct behaviour, so I just assumed I had somehow ballsed up my settings ;).

Say - here's a somewhat related issue I hope you can look into.  If I set Orientation to "Selection", edge extrude does not respect extrusion along a selected/highlighted axis of the gizmo/move manipulator.  This isn't always obvious on a planar surface, but try extruding from an edge of a sphere primitive and you'll see.  This issue does not occur in any other Orientation mode.

Hi IStonia,

Try this

Certainly an improvement, but still showing issues for "Shell" (Have not looked at extrude yet).

This is the part of a model that I was trying to shell.

When using this latest dev build, there are still issues:-

The part does shell without issues in Aug-10 build.

Download link for part (.vws in zip archive) if required:- https://www.mediafire.com/?ji4gu2jbsi12dyw

Thanks.

There are still many vertex offset incorrectly(as show above) with "Shell" on that example mesh I posted link to.

Did you check with that example mesh and did not see problems?

Hi IStonia,

Try this

That is looking good on the mesh I posted link to. I will make more test later. (currently I have a config conflict I am trying to find)

Many thanks.
