There are two cut named tools in the Geometry menu. The upper one is to cut a face in the middle. The lower one is the cut tool to do knife works.

And we are back at the tool names. I would call the one tool cut Divide for example. And the other tool knife :)

Hi Tiles,

The top [sub-object polygon] "Cut" is actually the "Cut Selected Polygons" tool.

A "Knife tool", that comes under (in nVil) the "Slice" tool (slice tool-> "X" -> draw cut/slice line)

Cut Selected Polygons should be the name then :)

The first 'Cut' is redundant. I forgot to remove it. It's been replaced by 'Commona Commands n Tools > Context Cut'.

The first 'Cut' is redundant.

I would only class it as redundant if the name was there and it did not function, but it does still "Cut Selected Polygons"

The "Context cut(BreakEdges)", why did you name it that?

I guess you are going to ask me to change this tool name. Do you know what's the difference between this tool and the 'Context Cut' tool?

Me, no. I was just asking the reason for the change in name.

I only care about the functionality of the tools, not what they are named, but was curious of the change in name from "Cut selected polygons" to "Context cut(BreakEdges). As the function changed?

In polygon mode, 'Context Cut' does the same thing as 'Cut Selected Polygons'. 'Cut Selected Polygons' is a legacy tool and was created before 'Context Cut' was introduced.

What is the difference between "Context cut" and "Context cut(BreakEdges)", both appear to add an edge_loop.
Should the "Context cut(BreakEdges)" only be Breaking the edges and not adding an edgeloop?

"Context cut(BreakEdges)" was suggested by BeatKitano. If cut action can not be performed, eg. the selection is one edge or an edge loop, the program will break each selected edges into two. So it has an additional function. I created 'Context Cut" in case not all people like the additional function.
