Project Curve to mesh in maya and ShapeMerge in 3ds max, is there such an option in NVIL.

About curve projection to surface - I didn't found a way to do this directly, but there's a workaround.

Select your object and open Scene Explorer->Retopo Reference List. Click Add from scene selection and turn on Retopo mode enabled. Rotate the camera to position from where you would like to project your spline. The spline and the retopo object must be visible and spline must be in front of the object. You'll probably want to switch the camera to orthographic mode. Select the spline and switch to vertex mode. Select all vertices and move them just a tiny little bit in a direction of choice. The curve will snap to retopo object.

After you're done, enter Retopo Reference List again and remove your retopo object by selecting it from the list and clicking Remove by scene selection or just clear the list. Turn off retopo mode.

I'm not sure if it's possible to project the spline without moving it slightly. At least, not yet.

Thanks, but this method is not suitable for a particular task.

Select all vertices and move them just a tiny little bit in a direction of choice. The curve will snap to retopo object.

That will only make the spline vertex move to surface, the actual spline itself(between vertex) will not necessarily sit on surface.

A question does arise as to why the "Surface alignment" was never made available to the spline vertex?

The new update has added the related functions.
