Title: Stepping on Tweak Rotate
Post by: Woolfy on August 21, 2017, 09:54:06 am
Hi,
I have a question about stepping.

If i use Streamline tool ---> LMB Tool ---> use "Generic Tools>> Axis Rotate" stepping with shift works.

If i use "Generic Tool>> Tweak Rotate" stepping doesn't work. Its good like it is in Perspective view, but is it possible to turn stepping for "Generic Tool>> Tweak Rotate" in another views on .

For example in "View Navigation Tools>>Bottom View" and other orthographic views?

No. There is no stepping on the tweak tools.

It is possible to create a composite tool that will call different tools depending on active view.
For example, if in "Custom View(Perspective)" you call "Tweak Rotate", if in front/back(etc) view, call "Axis Rotate".

Thanks a lot for the help Steve!

I added "axis rotation" to the RMB now. It helps , but if the object rotated in space and pivot point has different axis rotation then coordinate sistem(dont know how to describe it right), then it makes no sence to change in "side views" anymore.

It would make sence if i could use "tweak rotate" in side view because this rotation method orient on screen space.

............but if the object rotated in space and pivot point has different axis rotation ...

Change pivot location to "Selection" and pivot orientation to "Screen".
The "Tweak"/"Axis Rotation" tools work from manipulator location/orientation.

If you just want to rotate based on view, just use "Axis Rotate"(with manipulator orientation to view). "Axis Rotate" can be used as "Tweak" while stepping disabled, and it gives extra control on rotation speed(Mouse wheel)

Example: "Axis Rotate" based on view:-

Create composite tool:-

Set Restore Tools >> R_Turn on Manipulator_Position_Selection
Manipulator Tools >> Orientation(Screen)

------------------------------------------------

Create Streamline tool:-

Mouse function tools:-

RMB Tool: Generic Tools >> Axis Rotate (you can of course use any of the other mouse buttons)

Even Actions:-

On Activated:- (composite tool you created above)

On Exit:- Set-Restoe Tools >> R_Restore Manipulator_Position_Orientation.

---------------------------------------------------

Set hotkey for Streamline tool.

When called, it will always rotate object/selection around screen/view direction regardless of which view you use. It also allows for rotation speed change(mouse wheel), and allows for stepping.
