Hi there,
Here I sit the night before payday, and have been staring hard at Nvil 3d this month, I did try the free version, as well as tried to find some english tutorials (( there were not many tutorials))

I had a view questions from the experienced users out there.

1) how steep is the learning curve?
2) how do the features compare to Carrara modelling room or Hexagon
3) how is the stability?
4) what export formats are available if differant from the free version
5) is there a list of tools and features somewhere ?
6) are there any current second life users that successfully imported the meshes created into second life?
7) How intuitive are the native uvmapping utilities or is it best to stick to 3d coat for mapping?
8) how does the new version differ from the free version?

Sorry for so many questions, I am just curious and wanting to learn more about nvil

thank you for your time

Jikito

1.  There is a tutorials section on the Forum...Nvil is very easy to learn in comparison to other apps because it is an exclusive modeler without the clutter of other features.

2.  Nvil has a very complete feature list of modelling tools that is competitive with other major apps.  It does suffer from decent scene management tools  like an outliner and nulls for organization.(it has these....but they are cumbersome)

3.  I have only experienced crashes with booleans, and exporting large scenes. But these issues have been addressed.

4.  Obj and Dae

5.  read the help docs, tutorials.

6.  Nvil only exports .obj and dae

7.  Uv mapping is possible, but not mature, so best to use another app.

Try my config,  for an easy learning experience with Nvil...most of the tools and features are available with icons.

6.  Nvil only exports .obj and dae

If really needed. You can also export via the object library to .X, .3ds, .obj, .dae, .md5 or .smd

(I have not tested those exports)

5. I did put up a list to the Wiki, but for now it is a mere list, not explaining what the operations do:
